A few things to note:
- The fair board was designed to make decisions for the whole group (HCDA).
- The fair board members serve for 2 year terms and are elected every other year.
- Our group is very small, so nearly everyone has some sort of "title", officer or fair board member, but in truth we work as a committee.
- Very few decisions are made without talking it out as a group.
- We are a not for profit 501(c)3 group.
- We have no paid employees.
- We have no affiliation with the City of Hallsville.
- We all participate because we care a great deal about our community.
- The objective of building the fairgrounds and park was to build a nice facility for all in the community to use and enjoy.
- We have a variety of nice buildings and assets at the fairgrounds, but we owe no one.
- The HCDA sponsors the annual Hallsville Heritage Days, because we like it!
- We value our community and we like for everyone to get together once a year or so and appreciate each other.
- It is not a fundraising event for the HCDA.
- We have to find sponsors for nearly every event we hold at the Heritage Days.
