Hampton wins HMS Spelling Bee

November 28 - Congrats to Braelynn Hampton & Jackson Morton for rocking the HMS spelling bee today! Braelynn won on the word "constabulary." Jackson was runner up.

Mizzou professor talks super moon & eclipse

November 15 - Dr. Angela Speck, astronomy professor from the University of Missouri, spoke to 8th grade students regarding eclipses and the recent super moon.

StuCo donates time and money

November 14 - The well-dressed HMS Student Council members were the first people to greet the Veterans at last Thursday's campus-wide event for our nation's heroes.

HMS StuCo Food Drive: Nov 14-18

November 13 - HMS StuCo is sponsoring a Food Drive November 14-18. All food will be donated to the Central & Northeast Missouri Food Bank. 

7th graders predict the weather

November 5 - “Throw some grass in the air and let it go!” This was one way 7th grade science students checked the wind direction on a beautiful, 80 degree November day.

Students discuss cyber crimes

October 31 - Middle school students recently learned that the top three social media apps where cyber crimes occur are Facebook Instant Messenger, Snapchat, and Instagram.

German selected as national science panelist

October 27 - Hallsville Middle School science teacher Susan German was selected as a participant in a panel discussion for The Nation's Report Card.
