Hallsville Mathematics Rationale

Mathematics is taught in the Hallsville R-IV School district to develop students to learn to value mathematics, become confident in their own ability to do mathematics, become problem solvers, and be able to reason and make connections within and across the disciplines as well as to real world situations. As students enter the global community, they should be able to work cooperatively, collaboratively and communicate mathematical thinking effectively. Technology within mathematics will allow student to become aware of the connections between academic studies and real-world problem situations. As a result, mathematical concepts are taught so that students can function in and contribute to modern society.
