Supply List | Sample 4th Grade Progress Report
4th grade curriculum is based on the state standards and goals. This is taught through thematic active learning projects. Themes include Missouri history, native Americans, and aquatic studies. The 4th grade has a classroom economic society. We run a Jingle Bell Shop in December. The students earn school "money" through jobs and good behavior. The last week of school, the students spend their money at a real auction with items such as boom boxes, baseball memorabilia, and the like. Highlights of the year include Aquatic Day, Missouri Day and Native American Day. Fourth grade students also get to particpate in the Channel 37 News project, Kindergarten buddies, and Honor Choir.
4th grade classrooms are eMINTS classrooms. These classrooms are set up with special technology equipment including 12 student computers, a teacher workstation, scanner, color printer, digital camera, and a SMARTboard. There is ongoing teacher support and training to infuse the technology into our current curriculum and increase effective inquiry based learning.
