Plant and Animal Classification

You will follow each of the following steps to complete this unit. You need to do the steps in order. After each step, you must show me your work before you may go on to the next step. There will some choices along the way. We will take some days out to work on dichotomous keys as a class. After you have completed all the steps AND I have looked at your work to make sure you have no misconceptions, you may complete the final projects and assessment.

ASSESSMENT

After you have completed all 6 steps, you need to complete the following:

  • Is It Living?
  • Is It An Animal?
  • Functions of Living Things

Get these in the classroom from your teacher.

Make choices for your dichotomous key, vertebrate/invertebrate project and classes of vertebrate project using the choice sheet. (Classification Assessment Choices) Use the scoring guide to help you assess your project before you turn it in.
