Levels of Technology Integration |
Since 1999-2000 Hallsville R-IV Schools have been participating in the exciting eMINTS program. We currently have two 3rd grade and two 4th grade classrooms designed for this program. These classrooms are set up with special technology equipment including 12 student computers, a teacher workstation, scanner, color printer, digital camera, and a SMARTboard. There is ongoing teacher support and training to infuse the technology into our current curriculum and increase effective inquiry based learning.
Hallsville is continuing to expand eMINTS through teacher professional development and a commitment to classroom teaching strategies. During the 2005-06 we will be training a new eMINTS teacher and several teachers in non-eMINTS classrooms in a program called eMINTS4All.
The 2005-2006 school year also marks the beginning of Hallsville's involvement in LoTi. This initiative will increase the effective instructional use of technology throughout the district. LoTi will take many of the eMINTS strategies into other classrooms so that all learners will be engaged in lessons with integrated technology to develop high level thinking skills.
