Classroom Web Pages at Work An important part of our classroom learning environment is our home page. The class web site has many uses.
http://hallsville.schools.missouri.org/elementary/stillwell/webtips.htmlResources to help you build your own classroom page
- We use it to provide safe internet resources that tie directly to our curriculum and are easily accessible to our students both during class time and at home.
- We improve parent communication by posting parent notes and important dates.
- We have a wordwide platform to show and share our student projects.
- We have interactive projects with students from other classrooms from next door to Taiwan.
- We use it as an organizational tool to build units of study that we can find year after year and share with other teachers.
- Choose a web design program (Netscape Composer, Frontpage, Claris HomePage) and post it from your school website. Or if you do not have access to server space, use a teacher site such as
- Scholastic http://homepage.scholastic.com/classpages/start_hp.cf
- Geocities http://geocities.yahoo.com/
- Use other teacher home pages as resources (see examples below)
- Other resources for teachers
Internet Safety and Accessibility
- Computer Acceptable Use Policy
