- 9401 Automotive Technology 1 (Grade: 11-12; Credit: 3)
Automotive Technology is a two-year course in the basics of auto diagnosis and repair, which follows ASE/NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) guidelines. This course is for students who are interested in Automotive Technology as a profession. The course of study includes eight major units, covered over the two years of instruction. One year the units will include Engine Repair, Suspension and Steering Systems, Brakes, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Automatic Transmission/Trans-axle. The next year the units will include Electrical/ Electronics, Engine Performance, and Heating and Air Conditioning. Students will alternate classroom studies with lab or shop experiences.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on required assessment (first year); approved work clothes/shoes.

- 9402 Automotive Technology 2 (Grade: 12; Credit: 3)
Automotive Technology is a two-year course in the basics of auto diagnosis and repair, which follows ASE/NATEF guidelines. This is a continuation of Automotive Technology 1. Students will cover the remainder of the eight major units of instruction.

Prerequisite: C or better both semesters in Automotive Technology 1 for returning students, and/or Instructor approval; approved work clothes/shoes
