Amber Horne was the medalist with a 41 in a triangular meet at Timberlake Golf Course in Moberly last night (August 23, 2007). Westran hosted, Hallsville and Centralia were the guests. Hallsville posted the lowest team score with 216, to Centralia's 252, and Westran's 278.

Freshmen Michel Flatt and Nicole Shoop played their first varsity meet and posted 76 and 64 respectively. Nicole's 64 helped keep our team score low, along with Sam Heinrich's 55 ( 3rd place) , Katie Williamson's 56, and Amber's 41.
Centralia's low score was Katie Dollens with 55. Westran' best score was 65.

Cairo had two individuals at the meet. Marissa McPherson gave Amber a run for her money with a 42. This 41 is a personal best for Amber in a Hallsville match, although she has carded lower scores over the summer in Junior tournament play. She shot a 37 at LA Nickell in a practice round with her dad two weekends ago!!

Our team score of 216 is just 2 strokes off of our best 9 hole team score of last year, and 3 strokes higher than our best nine on an 18 hole tournament last year. We're well on our way to setting some new records for Lady Indians golf!!

Our next match is Monday at Lake of the Woods in Columbia. Then we have an 18 hole tournament at Paris on Wed.
