Hello! My name is Jan Hughes. I am in my 10th year of teaching in the Hallsville R-IV School District and 13th year of teaching overall. I have worked in the middle school as a learning specialist in the special education department since 1998. In January, 2008, I joined the high school staff. I am now teaching the Life Skills class. Before coming to Missouri, I taught in Oklahoma at a public school and at a Job Corp.
I came to Missouri from Oklahoma via a high school education at Perkins-Tryon High School and a college education at Oklahoma State University. In addition, I received my master's in Education with an emphasis on Special Education in 2002 from Columbia College.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my husband, Dale, who I married in 1997, and my daughters, Ann, and Alexanderia. We recently got a dog, Ella. She is a lab/husky mix. Also, we are avid Oklahoma State fans. Go Cowboys!!!!!
I also like watching old movies, listening to a variety of music, reading, and playing with my girls.
