HOMEWORK POLICY:

**ALL HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ARE TO BE DONE IN PENCIL!!**

(Work that is not done in pencil will be handed back to the student to redo.)

1.      Method of heading papers: All assignments must have your name, class, and assignment.

2.      Homework is required and you will be given point credit for all work that is collected (at the discretion of the teacher.)

3.      Homework assignments are worth full points on the DAY they are due, and must be in MY POSESSION when I leave the building.  20% will be deducted for each day an assignment is late.  When it reaches “0”, it can no longer be turned in for credit.

4.      If you are absent from class for any reason it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out what you missed.  You are responsible for any material that was covered in your absence.  There are three ways to obtain this information.

5.      If you are absent, you will be given 2 days from the day you return to class for any make-up assignments.  Be sure to write “MAKE-UP” on these assignments when they are turned in.

6.      Keep all homework assignments in your Math Notebook.  The homework makes an excellent review for tests, and you will be required to turn in your notebook at the end of each quarter.

QUIZZES/TESTS:

1.  Quizzes can be given any day of the week at any time during the class and will cover only the material we have covered in class, and usually range from 10 to 25 points.

2.      Tests will be given about every 2-3 weeks.

3.      Make-up quizzes will be given to you upon your return to class if time permits, or within one week.

4.      Make-up tests will be made up on YOUR time.  This usually means before or after school, with some exceptions.  If you do not show up for a scheduled make-up test, you will receive a ZERO.  Make-up tests must be made up within one week of return.

5.  Regular tests will usually be worth 100 points.

ACTIVITIES/PROJECTS:

1.      Activities and projects may be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups.

2.      Work will be graded using both individual participation and final outcome grades.

3.      Activities and projects will range in point value from 10 to 200 points, where 10 points might be a short activity in class, and 200 points might represent an individual project at the end of the Quarter.

NOTEBOOKS:

1.      Notebooks will be turned in every quarter.

a)      2nd quarter notebook will include 1st quarter notebook,

b)      4th quarter notebook will include 3rd quarter notebook,

c)      1st and 2nd quarter notebooks will NOT be included with 3rd and 4th quarter notebooks.

2.      Notebooks will NOT be accepted late.  They must be turned in on time, NO EXCEPTIONS!

3.      You are expected to have your notebook in the order stated on the “Table of Contents” given at the end of each quarter.

4.      Notebooks submitted in reverse order will automatically be reduced to half-credit of the notebook score based on student work.
