Evaluation Criteria:

  1. Name and unit title included
  2. On the stage, at least three images present. One image for each holiday or event. Use animated rollover buttons to perform the following:
    • Provide a title or description of an object or image
    • Add animation to the "static" images.
  3. At least one invisible button, that provides some type of visual cue to users
  4. Visual Design: Colors, backgrounds, buttons, and text work together to create a clear and easy viewing experience.
    • Images should not have backgrounds, and traces of background around an image; should fit within the overall design. For example, images with a white box border that are added to a different color background will diminish the quality of the visual design.
    • Original text is displayed rather than a substitute font on a user's computer; use common fonts or embed (will discuss embedding during Unit 7).
  5. Interface Design:
    • Size of the Flash movie limits scrolling for the interaction and viewing. Be mindful of different monitor sizes and resolutions for optimal viewing.
    • User can easily find and use all buttons
  6. All the symbols in the library are named and well-organized.
  7. All symbols in the library should be named, with appropriate naming conventions (See page 118)
  8. All button symbols follow naming convention
  9. Apply button and movie clip naming conventions, as suggested in the chapters.
  10. The library should only contain the necessary symbols.
  11. All the layers in the timeline are named and well-organized.
  12. The Flash movie and animation does not loop.
  13. The authoring design is efficient, meaning unnecessary frames, symbols, and layers are not used.
  14. All elements (required and optional) work appropriately.
