For the past 7 years, you have learned the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as they apply to whole numbers and decimals. You have been exposed to addition and subtraction of fractions. This year, we will apply the basic operations to fractions and integers (positive and negative numbers). We will also expand our knowledge of statistics with the introduction of Box-and-Whisker Plots. In chapter 7, we will solve and graph equations. In the geometry chapters, we will apply perimeter and area to circles as well as study volume of solids.
