The students are also reviewing and working on skills in the Wilson’s Reading System. In English, we are continuing to work on spelling and vocabulary packets; DOL’s and have tests on Fridays. Students are writing friendly letters and working the writing process.

Due dates for book reports for this quarter are: 1 st one is due February 6, 2 nd one is due March 5. If the first one is not turned in by February 6, the student can still turn it in for credit but it will be for 50% credit after the due date. The requirements for the book reports are: books at their level or approved by me; do a book report from the list - they cannot repeat a report style or book they have already used; and they cannot use the book we are reading in class as one of the readings.

Life Skills/Academic Lab Mrs. LaRoe Ext 439 mlaroe@hallsville.org

Math/Academic Lab Mrs. Hughes Ext 447 JHughes@hallsville.org

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have moved up to the High School Life Skills classroom after a position came open. There will be a substitute in my room for awhile; however, I will be keeping in contact with that room. I want to tell you how much that I have enjoyed working with your children.

Academic Lab: Your child should be using this time to get work completed from other classes, reading, or completing a packet that I have given them. Planners will be checked each day and teacher signature will be placed at bottom of that day’s column. They are receiving grades for filling them out. This can hurt their grade if they do not fill them out.

Math: We have been working on the Pre-Algebra concepts. We have started with working on mean, median, mode, and range in one class. In the other, we are working on various styles of measurement. Also, students need to be working on multiplication facts and start working on basic division facts and that process. Contact information: 573-696-5512
