We finished up our Bill of Rights posters on Monday and students presented them to the class on Tuesday. Students will have a quiz over the Bill of Rights on Thursday and a vocab. quiz/concept quiz over the Confederation to Constitution Unit on Friday. I will provide a study guide, but students already have their vocab. list. If you have any questions, please contact me.

This week, we begin chapter 9. It is changing fractions to decimals to percents and finding the percent of a number. Wednesday we will be in the media center. Some students will be working on their math facts, some will be completing makeup work, and some will have a free day to work on other work. For Valentine's Day, we will be making a circle graph and answering questions. The chapter 9 test might be the end of next week.

This week we are continuing to work on poetry. The quiz will be toward the end of the week, Thursday or Friday. We are also in the middle of our literature circle books, meeting #3 will be tomorrow. Book #2 that the students are reading independently is due March 6th for 50 points. If you have any questions, please contact me.

This week the students are wrapping up our novel, My Side of the Mountain . Students will be done with the book Friday. We will go to the library and take our Reading Counts test over the book. 7 TH GRADE STUDY CENTER SCHEDULE

Student supplies are diminishing: pencils, pens, paper, etc. Please ask your child if they need to restock.

• The Media Center will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30. Please remember that students need their school IDs to check out materials. If you did not receive an ID please notify your Advisory Teacher so they can send in a request for a temporary ID.
• We are collecting box tops in our advisory classes. Please save those and send them to school with your child!

• Remember that the Lost and Found is emptied every Friday. Be sure to check if you are missing something.

New Announcements:

• We are beginning to gather our list for our Six Flags trip at the end of the year. We discussed the trip requirements with our students at the beginning of the year- no OSS, ISS, Discipline Referral, or accumulation of detentions that would result in ISS (5). Tardy consequences do not count towards this trip. If you have any questions, feel free to contact a 7th grade teacher.
• Starting Tuesday, February 12, all students will report to their original advisory teachers (no game room) for mandatory study hall during Advisory. During the last couple of weeks, students have been making bad behavior choices that are affecting others within the classroom. We have also postponed our Six Flags trip until classroom behavior improves. If you have any questions, feel free to contact a 7th grade teacher.
