We are finishing up our Constitution Unit this week. Students have a 2-part test on Thursday and Friday. Thursday's test is over the amendments, articles, and vocabulary. Friday's test is over the 3 branches of government and basic Constitution concepts. I will hand out a study guide on Tuesday and we will review on Wednesday. I will hand out a list of missing assignments on Tuesday - all missing work is due Friday for partial credit. Please let me know if you have any questions.
We are going to continue to study the atmosphere and soon we will be studying the weather. Hopefully by the end of the course we will be able to figure out why our weather changes with such extremes as it has over the past few days. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thursday book #2 is due for 50 points. Vocabulary chapter 6 is due on Friday, along with the test. We will work on summarizing this week in class.
This week in Reading we are working on our Literature Book Circles. The students are either reading Dogsong, Sounder, City of Ember or Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. The students will be reading a lot more this upcoming quarter independently. Please ask your child what they are reading, ask them about the characters, plot, setting of their book and what “job” they have this quarter. Advisory: Don’t forget to bring in your boxtops! Have a Good Week! Mrs. P.

We have finally finished MAP-A testing, YEAH! We will work on portfolios in English class getting them ready for student led conferences March 13 and 14. In English, we will also continue with our journal writing and keeping a diary. We are working on Force and Motion in Science. Social Studies focus is on other cultures past and present. Which we will tie into our Fairy Tale unit of study in Reading class. In Math, each student is working at their ability level. Job Skills is focusing life skills for work by answering questions and talking about appropriate and inappropriate behaviors at school, work and/or home.
We need a few more boxes of Kleenex. We have opened the last box this week. So, please if you can send in a box it would be greatly appreciated.
Math--7th grade--( 1st hour) We have been working on counting with money, and practicing our basic skills with decimals, multiplication, and division when we can. We had a test last week over Ch 2 and the results were great! We have started a review of basic information that is kind of hit or miss. We are reviewing old information and covering new things like fractions, decimals, estimation, etc. We have also started addition, subtraction, and multiplication timed tests. If you could help your child review these facts, that would be great!
Math--7th grade--( 6th hour) We are looking to have a test before the end of this week over the information we have covered thus far. We will then begin reviewing basic information and working on both old and new math skills. We have also started addition, subtraction, and multiplication timed tests as a review. If you could help your child practice these facts, that would be great!
Ac Lab-- We are continuing to work on various homework assignments , checking to make sure students fill out and use their planners daily, and turning in work on time. We have had a lot of tests, quizzes, and book reports this quarter! However, the kids are doing so well! We have seen improvement in so many areas! Encourage your child to keep up the good work!
