Social Studies Mrs. Sides Ext 440 RSides@hallsville.org

I had to be out of town on Monday and Tuesday for a family funeral, so Wednesday will be a catch up day! We are still learning about explorers and we will be wrapping this up in the next week or so! Please contact me if you have any questions!

Math Mrs. Haes Ext 448 RHaes@hallsville.org

This week we begin the front of the 7 th grade math book. The students can pick from the regular assignment, Level A, or the more challenging assignment on the same section, Level B. Wednesday, we are going to the computer lab to work on math facts in hopes of earning more ice cream for the sundae party in May. The scores from the vocabulary quiz last week were amazing. Thanks for practicing with your child.

Level A versus Level B assignments – You will notice on my website that there are level A and Level B assignments for each class. Level A assignments are 7 th grade math assignments. Level B assignments are for those students who want to be on the fast track to Algebra I as 8 th graders. If your child is in my 1 st, 3 rd, 6 th, or 8 th hours, they can choose either assignment.

Reading Mrs. Pemberton Ext 487 JPembert@hallsvill.org

We are still working on reading Charlotte's Web. The 10 vocabulary words are important to your child's grade. Make sure they take the time to study them. Also, bring in box tops to your advisory teachers. We are in the race to win an ice-cream party! Have a Great Week!

Math/Academic Lab Mrs. Hughes Ext 447 JHughes@hallsville.org

Math:

In Math, we have been working on Pre-Algebra concepts. We are working on patterns and how it relates to algebra. Students will also have a quiz this week that deals with what has been presented this week as well as concepts from previous weeks. At home, students need to be working on multiplication facts. Homework will be sent home to help with this. By doing multiplication, other concepts can be built upon.

Academic Lab:

In Academic Lab, your child should be using this time to get work completed from other classes, reading, or completing a packet that I have given them. (Packets are given when work is completed and they come to class with nothing to do.) Planners will be checked each day and teacher signature will be placed at bottom of that day’s column. They will be given points for doing this. If filling out the planner becomes an issue, teachers will be asked to sign the appropriate class as well as parents’ signature. (Also, you should have received a paper that you were to sign explaining this procedure as well.)
