Hallsville R-IV Summer School - June 2-27, 2008

Hallsville R-IV Public Schools Home Page

Welcome! The purpose of summer school is to provide enrichment opportunities, offer exploratory classes, and remediate deficiencies in required courses.  Summer School also offers courses that may not be available during the traditional school year in areas that are needed by and/or of interest to the student. We are excited about the wide range of coursework offered this year. We believe the activities are truly student-centered, creative and challenging. Teachers have been developing classes to engage students in interactive activities that promote, build upon and further develop critical thinking skills. We look forward to a highly successful and rewarding summer school program.

  • Enrollment begins Monday, March 17.  Any forms received before the start date will be processed and given the same priority as forms received from 8:00-8:30 am on 3/17/08.  If a class fills by 8:30 am on the first day of summer school registration, March 17, the class will be filled by a random drawing of those forms.
  • When summer school handbooks are sent home by classroom teachers, many will include individualized recommendations for classes for your child.  Please take these recommendations into account when selecting classes and return the enrollment forms to the classroom teacher for approval.

Perfect attendance is being present all day, every day, no tardies, no absences, no excuses.
  • What if a student is sick or has a doctor's appointment?
Students will be granted an excused absence from a parent or doctor's note so that work may be made up, but any absence of any part of a school day is still counted on attendance.
  • How much summer school can I miss and still attend?
High school students and any student required to take summer school to be promoted to the next grade may only miss three classes. Any additional absences result in loss of credit.
