Dear Parents of 2008-2009 Kindergarteners:
Hallsville Primary will offer summer school for children who are enrolled and will enter kindergarten in the fall of 2008. We would like to offer pre-kindergarten classes to give children the opportunity to “experience” kindergarten prior to starting school in the fall. The purpose of the summer school class will be to help the children get familiar with the school setting and to enhance basic readiness skills in reading and math.
We will offer two morning classes, from 8:00 until 11:00, and two afternoon classes, from 12:00 until 3:00, from June 2- June 13. We will offer one morning class, from 8:00 until 11:00, and afternoon class, from 12:00 until 3:00, from June 16- June 27. Enrollment in each of these sessions will be limited. Enrollments will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you would like to enroll your child in one of the sessions, complete the attached enrollment form and mail or bring it to the primary school at 6401 E. Hwy 124, Hallsville, MO 65255. Office hours are from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Hallsville R-IV 2008 Summer School
This information is for students who are enrolled and
will attend Kindergarten in the 2008-2009 school year.
For Summer School information on
students of other age levels, handbooks with registration information will be
available in mid-March. Please contact
the appropriate building for details.
Purpose:
The main purpose of the pre-kindergarten summer
school program for students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2008 is to
offer the opportunity to “experience” kindergarten prior to starting
school. Summer school is free to all
students.
Bus Transportation: Summer school
provides transportation pick up (a.m.) and drop off (p.m.) services at central
locations with limited routes compared to the regular school year
services. There will be no bus services at noon. Parents will need to provide or arrange
transportation to pick up their child(ren) at 11:00 if enrolled in a morning
session or to drop off their child(ren) at 12:00 if enrolled in an afternoon
session. Service points will be
determined after summer school registration is complete. (See the Bus Transportation Request form on
the next page.)
Discipline:
All discipline
policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct will be enforced during summer
school and all related activities.
Inappropriate behaviors are unacceptable during summer school. If a student violates the Student Code of
Conduct they will be sent to the office where their parent/guardian will be
called and the situation discussed. A
second violation of the Student Code of Conduct will result in the student’s
suspension for the remainder of the summer term.
