New Middle School Projectors

The Middle School has had two new data projectors installed for teacher and student presentations and instruction.

The first goes to the Middle School Media Center, allowing teachers to easily demonstrate concepts and present lesson plans to a large group of students.

The second unit has been installed in the Middle School Computer Lab, along with a SmartBoard interactive screen. This allows teachers and students to dynamically demonstrate lessons, give presentations, and express ideas and concepts.

Server Room Upgrades

The planned upgrades to our server room have been completed.
These upgrades included installing all equipment in a state-of-the-art server rack,
along with cable and fiber management upgrades.

Freshmen Get Email

All Hallsville R-IV freshmen now have email accounts.
This completes our goal of providing all high school students with district email accounts. In our current high-tech society, email has become the standard means of communication between friends, educational institutions, and business contacts. Providing email services to our students enables them to keep up and succeed in our rapidly changing world.

Sophomores Get Email

We have given all Hallsville R-IV Sophomores GroupWise email accounts. Our experience with the juniors and seniors has shown us how responsible and trustworthy our students are, and how useful email is for communication between students and faculty.
The Freshmen won't be left out, as we are currently setting up their accounts as well.

Purchase Card Manual Added to Encyclopedia

We have added PDF versions of the Hallsville R-IV Purchase Card Manual and a couple of the most commonly used forms to the Support Encyclopedia.

ParentLink Goes Live

This morning, we sent out emails to all parents who expressed interest in participating in the ParentLink feature of SIS.
Everyone who received an email should be able to log in using the SIS Parentlink icon on the main Hallsville website using the information provided in their welcome email. If you have any questions, please contact the appropriate building office for assistance.

'Kutztown 13' Hackers Quietly Offered Deal

The case against the ''Kutztown 13'' -- a group of Pennsylvania high school students charged with felonies for
tinkering with their school-issued laptop computers -- seems to be ending mostly with a whimper.
