Welcome to the Hallsville School District
The Hallsville School District is located in the northern part of Boone County, just 10 miles north of Columbia. We offer a small school district and community feel, while at the same time having the conveniences the city of Columbia has to offer. The district is dedicated to providing the best education for all students so they can reach their potential. The Hallsville School District is committed to our vision of improving lives through learning.
Our District
Our district serves over 1,400 students and employs more than 200 faculty, staff, and administrators. The district includes our Primary School (grades PreK-2), Intermediate School (grades 3-5), Middle School (grades 6-8), and High School (9-12). There are six sections in each level K-6, and our average student to teacher ratio in each building is 20:1. Specials classes are offered to all students K-5 in music, art, counseling, P.E., health, and library. Middle school students are offered a range of exploratory classes, and our high school offers dual credit college courses and AP classes.
Professional Learning Community
The Hallsville School District takes pride in being a Professional Learning Community (PLC). Our school calendar allows for faculty PLC collaboration each month. Collaboration teams include grade levels, vertical and content areas. Teachers, specialists, and interventionists spend time reviewing and identifying essential learning outcomes, analyzing student work, and determining instructional strategies that best fit the needs of all our learners. not only between grade levels but also through vertical content areas. Community Support
In 2017, the Hallsville community demonstrated its commitment to providing quality education to every child by passing an operating levy increase to ensure small class sizes, expanded technology, and attract and retain quality educators. In 2018, the Hallsville community also passed a $7 million bond issuance for construction of a second grade wing, gymnasium, storm shelter at the primary school and to complete general campus improvements. Buildings additions are expected to open for the 2020 - 2021 school year.
