HALLSVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT SELECTS NEW ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

The Hallsville School District is excited to announce Ryan Richardson was approved by the Board of Education to be the Activities Director and Facilities Coordinator beginning July 1, 2024, following Brad Blakemore's retirement on June 30. With an impressive background in athletics and education, Richardson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position.

For the past three years, Richardson has served as the Activities Director for the Harrisburg School District; in addition, he has been the girls head basketball coach since joining the district in 2016 as a physical education teacher. Under his current leadership, Richardson not only oversaw their athletic and activities programs but spearheaded significant athletic facility renovations in the performance gym and the entire athletic complex, including football, baseball, softball, and track and field stadiums.

“Harrisburg's investments in athletics and activities have made it a special place to work, and the lessons of hard work, dedication, pride, and tradition will stay with me.  As I embark on the next chapter as Activities Director in Hallsville, my family and I are thrilled to be part of the Hallsville family once again. I am excited to give my all to the Hallsville community and continue building on the programs’ successes,” Richardson reflects.

Richardson has served as a member of the MSHSAA basketball advisory for the past three years and holds the position of MBCA all-state representative for class 2 girls basketball for an impressive six years. Richardson was also voted NE Missouri Newcomer of the Year and was a finalist for the state of Missouri Newcomer of the Year.

"We are honored to have Ryan Richardson join our team," said John Downs, Superintendent of Schools.  "His impressive track record as an Activities Director and coach, coupled with his commitment to integrity and community values, makes him an invaluable addition to our team. We are confident that his skills and dedication will enhance the experiences and opportunities of our students and the Hallsville community."

Richardson and his wife, Daphne, have a son, Easton, who will be an incoming kindergartener. His stepdaughter, Peyton Thoenen, is a 2023 graduate of Hallsville High School.
