Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP)

Hallsville School District Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

The 2024-2029 Hallsville CSIP was developed using data and input from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, stakeholder feedback, district program evaluations, needs assessments, student achievement data, Climate and Culture survey data, and Annual Performance Report (APR) data. The CSIP revision process began in January 2024 with a review and revision of the district Mission, Vision, and Values, followed by a comprehensive data review, priority and goal setting, creation of action steps, and identification of timelines and responsibility for implementation. In an effort to involve as many stakeholders as possible, community and family input was gathered through surveys, and staff had multiple opportunities to engage in in-person meetings as well as through surveys. The administrative team reviewed all feedback for consideration of inclusion in the updated CSIP. Updated versions of the draft documents were provided to Hallsville stakeholder groups for feedback, which was carefully reviewed and included in revisions.

Plan objectives, strategies, and action steps were written to support improvements in three goal areas:
1. Student Learning
2. Excellent Schools
3. Quality Governance

The implementation of the CSIP will be a district effort, with many action items included within individual Building Improvement Plans (BIPs) and supported through other district plans such as the technology, facilities, and assessment plans. The administrative team will review progress on CSIP goals, objectives, and strategies on an ongoing basis. Progress on CSIP goals and objectives will be reported to the school board, as outlined in the CSIP, at least quarterly using the balanced scorecard and administrative reports. Updates will be shared with the staff and community through the publication of eNews. The plan will be updated each spring, as necessary; revised plans will be presented to the Board of Education each year for approval.

Annual Performance Report

Each year, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) generates an Annual Performance Report (APR) for each local education agency (LEA) and building. The APR is one tool used by DESE to review performance and continuous improvement measures and to help inform classification decisions made by the State Board of Education. Where appropriate, data have been suppressed to protect small student populations. Suppression is indicated by an asterisk.
