The Hallsville High School Indians football team will host Boonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, for the 2026 Homecoming game. Coronation will take place during halftime.

The Hallsville PTO strives to be active in our schools and looks forward to another successful year of events and supporting Hallsville Schools. The PTO holds multiple events throughout the year, including its annual Trivia Night in February. These annual events help support activities and scholarships and allow the PTO to purchase large and small-scale items for students, teachers, and buildings.

At Mizzou, SYOSP stands for the Senior Year On-Site Program. It is a yearlong, hands-on teaching internship for undergraduate education majors in the College of Education & Human Development. The Hallsville School District is fortunate to have 6 SYOSPs for the 2026-2027 school year, many of whom are Hallsville High School graduates.

The Hallsville Board of Education will hold its next regular session meeting on Wednesday, September 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hallsville Primary School cafeteria. The agenda will be available here when it is posted.

S.M. Wilson continues to make progress on construction across the district as several projects move closer to completion!

All-Purpose Field and Parking Lot: Perimeter fence posts and the field's concrete curb have been installed. Posts are also in place for the batting cages, bullpens, foul poles, backstop system, and scoreboard. Crews continue to spread base rock across the field. Crews poured footings and foundations for the backstop wall, while work continues on the dugout footings, foundations, and slab. Parking lot grading is nearing completion, and crews have installed storm structures and pipes. The fiber optic line between the High School and bus barn is also complete.

Classroom Addition: Crews poured the concrete floor and completed the structural steel work, including columns, beams, decking, and detailing. Preliminary exterior framing is now underway.

Secured Entry Doors: Crews installed aluminum storefront doors and hardware at each secure entrance, along with the remaining ceiling grid. Electrical rough-in work is complete, and the district’s security contractor has finished the control wiring.

Heavy rainfall during May and June affected the construction schedule. Updated anticipated completion dates include:

• All-Purpose Field: Mid-November
• Drive Lane and Parking Lot: Mid-September
• Classroom Addition: Early January

The 2026-2027 handbooks are now available for families to review online. We encourage parents to take a moment to look them over. Each handbook also includes a specific section on Positive Behavior Interventions And Supports (PBIS), highlighting school expectations, multi-tiered frameworks, and encouragement systems that are in place at each building. If you have any questions while reviewing the handbooks, please contact your building principal.

Parents and students in secondary schools are encouraged to download the free Infinite Campus app. The app provides easy access for families to view the following:

• Lunch Balances & Meal Payments 

Parents and students in secondary schools are encouraged to download the ParentSquare app. The app provides easy access to district, building, and classroom information. Within the app, you can also change your notification settings to best fit how and when you receive communication from the school.

There are three ways that you can receive notifications: Email, Text, & App. Within each notification, you can also select off, instant, or digest.

Off: no notifications about posts will be sent to you. Emergency Alerts and Notices will still be sent.

Instant: you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification every time a notice or message is sent.

Digest: you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification once a day in the evening with all posts from that day. This occurs at 6:00 p.m.

The Hallsville Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2026 Educator of the Year! Nominations are due by Wednesday, October 28. If you would like to nominate a teacher from our district who exemplifies dedication, motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment, please submit your nomination online below.

The 6th Annual Boone County Ready Festival is Thursday, September 17, at Cosmo Park in Columbia. Hosted by Boone County Office of Emergency Management, this free event will offer emergency truck tours, games and activities for youth, and will also have awards and giveaways.
