Come out and support the Indian Pride Marching Band. Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hallsville Athletic Complex for this free community event. You'll see their field show, drumline performance, and indoor auxiliary performance.
In addition, the Indian Pride Band Boosters will host a 50/50 raffle and sell items made from old marching band uniforms.
We look forward to seeing the community pack the stands for this amazing night of music!

Public Health and Human Services will be at the Hallsville Community Center located at 324 E Hwy 00 this Wednesday, 9/30, for a flu clinic. The clinic is open from 3:30 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. If you're in the area and need a flu vaccine, stop by!

Picture retake day is Thursday, October 22, in the morning at all four buildings.Retakes: For families that have already ordered a photo package.
If your child would like to have their picture retaken, you'll need to send the complete original picture package back to school with your child. New packages will be sent to the school in a few weeks.

Earlier this month, SM Wilson provided the seventh monthly construction update on Proposition 2 construction projects. With the weather finally cooperating, construction is progressing along quickly!
All Purpose Field & Parking Lot: Concrete work for the backstop, dugouts, and bleachers is complete, field light poles are installed, and final preparations are underway for turf installation. Grading, stormwater work, lighting, and concrete curbs have also progressed for the new parking lot and drive lane.
Classroom Addition: Exterior and interior framing is complete, roofing and brickwork are underway, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work continues.
Secured Entry Doors: Punch list corrections are also underway at the new secure entrances.
Updated timelines for project completion have been amended:
- Drive lane and parking lot completion: Mid-October
- All Purpose Field: End of October
- Classroom Additions: End of December
- Secure Entrance: Cameras installed 9/14

These awards are a true testament to the dedication of our teachers and Building-level PBIS teams, who work tirelessly to build strong systems that benefit every student. Hallsville Athletic Boosters are excited to gear up for another successful year! Hallsville Athletic Boosters financially supports the athletic programs at Hallsville Schools. Membership dues, as well as funds raised through sponsorships and fundraisers, will support special projects that enhance the Hallsville Middle School and High School athletic programs.
Thanks to their members and sponsors, they have funded several large projects benefiting multiple athletic programs, including wrestling, track, basketball, golf, softball, MS cheer, baseball, volleyball, and football.
In addition to the large projects, HAB has pledged the following annual support for all Hallsville sports programs:
- $2500 annual scholarship (Male & Female)
- Senior banners
- Creation and printing of programs
- Athletic program shirts beyond districts

The Hallsville School District hosted its first safety meeting of the year last week. The group reviewed the district's CSIP Goal of Excellent Schools, specifically Improvement Objective 2.1.2: Schools provide a safe environment where students can focus on academic learning. The group also reviewed the “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol.
The Standard Response Protocol is based on an all-hazards approach to incidents that can happen in schools. This protocol provides common, easy-to-understand language while allowing for flexibility in how school administrators and first responders respond. The premise is simple; there are five specific actions that can be performed during an incident or emergency: HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE and SHELTER.
Students and staff will train and practice the response protocols throughout the school year.

The Hallsville PTO strives to be active in our schools and looks forward to another successful year of events and supporting Hallsville Schools. The PTO holds multiple events throughout the year, including its annual Trivia Night in February. These annual events help support activities and scholarships and allow the PTO to purchase large and small-scale items for students, teachers, and buildings.
Please join the Hallsville PTO on Tuesday, October 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hallsville Primary School cafeteria. They will be discussing the fall fundraiser and fall activities.

The Hallsville Board of Education will hold its next regular session meeting on Wednesday, October 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hallsville Primary School cafeteria. An agenda for the meeting can be found here when available.

Youth Events
Light of My Life Dance: Hallsville girls in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring an adult who is a special light in their life. Guests may include a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, neighbor, or another important adult.

Hallsville Kids Club Youth Wrestling: Hallsville Kids Club is a youth nonprofit wrestling club founded in 2010 and dedicated to advancing the sport. Registration is now open for the season! Come to an informational trial on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 2:00-4:00 pm to see a live demonstration & answer questions (not required but recommended for new kids). You can also register on our website www.hkcwrestling.com by November 9.
